About the movie
The vast territories that make up the United States today are for the most part Hispanic-rooted. Being the second Spanish-speaking country in the world, it is also the country where its roots are the most neglected.
In this documentary film we are going to show these roots.Today, more than ever, they need to be recovered. From Coronado to Gálvez, from María Jesús de Ágreda to Junípero Serra, from the Charros of Salamanca to the Cowboys, through Jalisco. From the Spanish Tingle to the Blues, from the Mexican Baroque to the Missions.
This film will show that Hispanic culture is a protagonist throughout the history and present of this great country.
United States Hispanic roots
Dialogue on Hispanic America roots us, even from our emotional heritage, in our identity. We Hispanic Americans come from a history that we have not chosen, but from which we can learn a great deal if we know it well.
In all cases, history arises from mixture, multiculturalism, recurrent and successive invasions by other cultural groups, and from migration.
We are trans-European and trans-American, we are more than 550 million people capable of understanding each other. A living cultural world that can turn human, personal, social, and political relations upside down. All over the globe.
In a society full of uncertainties, in a change of era, and with a deficit of humanity in so many cases, we the Hispanics have a lot to say, a lot to live, and a great value to bring.
Music
The history of music in America is inseparable from that of Spanish music. Salsa, jazz, blues, ragtime, baroque…
They are all examples of the magnificent process of musical exchanges that took place between Spain and North America, which is essential to know and rescue.
