WE THE HISPANOS FOUNDATION

Our Mission

The mission of WE THE HISPANOS FOUNDATION is to explore, communicate, and promote the Hispanic heritage and history of the United States.

We focus on initiatives that blend historical research, audiovisual production, and platforms for open dialogue—such as conferences, round tables, and symposia. These events feature historians and thought leaders connected to our productions and aim to create synergies that bring the rich contribution of Hispanic culture closer to the broader public, both in historical context and contemporary relevance.

Our First Major Project

Our inaugural project is the documentary WE THE HISPANOS: The Hispanic Roots of the United States, directed by José Luis López-Linares. This film reveals how the Hispanic presence has been an integral part of American history and identity—long before the nation’s founding. Featuring interviews with renowned historians, rare archival material, evocative music, and carefully crafted visual storytelling, the documentary celebrates the deep and enduring Hispanic legacy in the U.S. With an eye to the future, it offers a hopeful narrative timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Conferences, Round Tables, and Symposia

Alongside this documentary, we are launching a series of events titled “Hispanoamérica: A Shared Future,” to be held across various U.S. cities.

After successful editions in Madrid, Mexico City, and Lima, these forums will align closely with the themes of our audiovisual work and will feature historians, cultural experts, and contributors to the film. These gatherings are designed to be open spaces for reflection, free expression, and meaningful dialogue on the role of Hispanic culture in shaping both the history and the future of the United States. They also serve to amplify the project’s central message and promote engagement among communities, researchers, and the general public.

Social Impact and Outreach

A core mission of the foundation is to ensure that our cultural legacy reaches the widest possible audience. To that end, we are developing partnerships with cinemas, educational institutions, media outlets, and cultural platforms to support broad and inclusive distribution.

Looking Ahead

These first steps are only the beginning of a long-term vision. Our goal is to grow into a lasting and dynamic platform for the study, celebration, and discussion of the Hispanic legacy in the United States. We are committed to keeping this work alive and relevant for generations to come.
